Charitable Trust
Alumni of REC Trichy (now NIT Trichy) - batch of 1991 had a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the society. On various Re-Unions and Get-Togethers across the globe, the most frequent question was - how do we collaborate more effectively to give back and enable future generations to be successful. That’s when we thought of creating a formal TRUST that will enable us to challenise our ideas, validate them objectively, execute them efficiently and monitor them.
We formed RECT91 Charitable Trust in 2010 with few like-minded friends in few parts of India. Due to logistical reasons, we could not register the Trust with all our batchmates. Having said, this is OUR TRUST and each of our batchmates belong to it!
Since the formation of the trust, we have been making small and incremental charity work with due diligence at every step of our decision.

Vision

Play a constructive role in providing & supporting education and literacy related activities to improve people’s education and there-by life holistically.

Mission

Contribute positively to the to the society by charitable activities in the field of education in and around REC(NIT) Trichy.

Support, maintain and/or grant aid to economically non-gifted areas for education.

Scholarship programs to the needy and deserving ones.

Establish voluntary programs through financial or in-kind and increase the awareness of importance of education.

Charity work so far...

In 2011, we got to know of the intermittent electricity in the village Peruvalapur near Trichy where the children who were attending the after-school coaching. We from our Trust sponsored 10 rechargeable halogen lamps.

In 2012 and in 2014, In partnership with AID India - Eureka Superkidz - an innovative village education upliftment center that provides quality science, math and language coaching to children from the economically weaker sections, our Trust adopted the village Peruvalapur and contributed the children's transformation.

Our Time
No contribution can replace a contribution by offering one’s TIME. While we are only a handful of our batchmates who formed the Trust, OUR mission can only be accomplished with joined hands by as many of our batchmates joining us and spare your TIME to be part of Trust activities.
